Omitting a specific item in a discount calculation

Omitting a specific item in a discount calculation

At the moment, I have setup several discounts for our users. The discounts apply a percentage off based on items with a specific value.

Some of our workshops include a separate fee which we refer to as a materials fee - which is in addition to the base price of the workshop. I recently worked with Jason to setup my eCart object to combine the materials fee and the base price of the workshop so the combined price would reflect in the cart.

As its currently setup, my discounts apply a discount to the total price (material fee + price). However, I would like the discount to only be applied to the base price and not the materials fee.

Is it possible using eCart to modify the discounts to disregard a specific item when factoring the discount?

I have attached my eCart object for your review.

on the calculations tab, create a new calculation that uses the original calculation for total price:

OrigianlTotal:
[Price] * [Quantity]

Then in the discounts, instead using the TotalPrice column, use the OriginalTotal column.

your calculations are set to use Items with a specific column value:
Discountable2 = 1

any items where the Discountable2 column is not equal to 1 will be ignored from the discount
