Digital File and update record

Digital File and update record

I have a lot of clients complaining that when they go to update a record that has an image, sometimes they don't want to update the image , just the text. but unless they browse for the same image again and get it into the file field, the file filed will be empty and now there is no image in the database. What is the process of updating a record with an image but only updating a text field not the image. Is there a work around that leaves the text field that is the "isset" but also having a file field in case they want to change the image?

Basically, you have a hidden form element on your page that is set to contain the file name that is already in the database.

in the Upload File server behavior, you set the Default File option to get the value from the hidden form element. This allows the database to be updated with the origianl file name if no file is uploaded.

The "How to apply Digital File Pro to DataAssist Insert and Update pages" tutorial in the How To section of the Digital File Pro support page explains how this is accomplished:

thanks for your help

Very cool to know as iI was waiting for your reply , I was programming the hidden file field. The only thing I wasn't sure about was setting the default file.

Thanks for your help, much appreciated!
