DataAssist Error on Page View

When I go to my URL to view the .php I get this error:

Warning: mysql_pconnect() [function.mysql-pconnect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/content/m/u/d/mudcheck/html/Connections/mud.php on line 9

Fatal error: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) in /home/content/m/u/d/mudcheck/html/Connections/mud.php on line 9

Can't figure out what is causing the error, pls assist.

This error usually means there is a problem with the MySQL install and the location of the sock file. Something that I have suggested to other users that has worked for them is to use the loopback address rather than localhost in the connection file. This should establish the connection to the db via the network rather than through the local sock file.

So where you are specifying localhost for the host you should instead use Please try this out and post back with your result.
