Extensions have disappeared in DreamWeaver CS5.5

Extensions have disappeared in DreamWeaver CS5.5

Can anyone tell me how to prevent almost all of my WebAssist extensions from mysteriously disappearing in DreamWeaver CS5.5?

There doesn't appear to be a pattern to the problem. I have re-installed some or all of them (based on the amount of time it takes to do all the re-installs and depending on what I need for the projects I'm currently working), numerous times now.

After re-installing they'll hang around for an indeterminate period of time but then, like today when I really needed some of them, they're almost all missing, so I'm going to have to go through the time-intensive task of re-installing all the ones I need for today's project!

The extensions aren't just missing from DreamWeaver, they've also removed themselves from Extension Manager.

This is a real pain as the likes of Surveyor was configured to run at certain intervals to issue reminders for a number of projects - but it's vanished, and I don't know when it decided to vanish itself, so I now have to backtrack through my records to manually resubmit the sitemaps for those sites that were missed - more development time wasted!!

Usually the extensions disappearing happens after installing a DW update. most times, the DW Update will overwrite the menu XML file causing the extensions menu access points to be removed.

open the extension manager (Commands -> Manager Extensions) to re enable them.
