Site Sculptor add/remove pages and menu

There is something I do not understand. I have set-up a Site Sculptor site. In the CMS I can see and edit all pages I want.

But when I delete a page, the corresponding tab in the (sub)menu stays there. There is no link between those two.
When adding a page, ther is not a (sub)menu created.

What do I miss? I like the menu be/get updated when adding a new page.

I hope you can help...

Regards, Stuward

Site Sculptor will update the navigation if you add or remove pages. This is not a supported feature in site sculptor.

Are you using the stand alone site sculptor or the site sculptor of design extender?

Dear Jason,

I have the supersuit. What I want is add/remove pages + (automated) menu update through the CMS. This is for the client to maintain the site without my interference.

Is that possible?

If you are using The Site Sculptor of Design Extender, it uses the same CMS Engine as Power CMS Builder, the Stand alone version does not.

In Power CMS builder, Template pages can automatically drive the menu.

See the "Create New Pages from PowerCMS Templates" video on our you tube channel

this will not be possible in the stand alone site Sculptor version though.

Thanks Jason. I have watched the video 10+ times and even made the good working blogpostings just like the video tells.

For the menu, do you refer to the 3:25 minute sentence where the instructor tells "...or you can just add them to your site's menu..."

I am interested how. Maybe I am not smart enough, I really need a more specific instructions (loke the video) to understand the way it works.

Around 3:57 the instructor gives you details for createing a recordset to display the templated pages, you can use that record set to display all the template pages, it is not supported to dynamic ly drive the menu, but you can create this recordset to display a master list of the template pages and links to a detail page.

If I understand it right, it is not possible to use that recordset of master list to drive the menu, but just as a list on the page.

That would be disappointing in the client's perception to offer a cms that does not keep the menu up-to-date. Is there a work around? Making the menu editable for the client by making it an editable region in the template page?

It can be done to use menu writer to create a dynamic menu, but is not supported.

if you would like help doing this, I would suggest signing up for a premiere support appointment where we can help you achieve this.
