Unknown Error

DreamWeaver CS 5.5 Version 11.5 Build 5315
Mac OS X 10.7.4
DataAssist 2.1.0

WebServer is part of my LAN
Mac OS X Server 10.7.4
I installed and configured MySQL
---------------------

I am able to connect with the latest version of Navicat (my preferred Database Administration tool)
I am unable to use the DataAssist Wizard to make a connection.
Whenever I fill in the MySQL connection information, and click on test, I get an alert that an Unidentified Error has occurred.

The fact that I can Administer the database with Navicat tells me that I'm able to make certain connections. I don't know why DreamWeaver can't make a connection.

I don't know how to proceed.

Thanks.

Larry

This is a problem with the Dreamweaver Site Definition, specifically the Connection to the Testing Server.

In the Site Definition, go to the servers section, and make sure a testing server is set up, and that the URL for the testing server is the correct web address.

Data Bride - Data Assist Pages - "Unidentified Error Has Occurred" - Site Definition is defined with proper URL for Test Server

I'm having this same issue......where I can connect to my MYSQL database using Navicat (my preferred Database Administration tool), but when trying to define a connection with Data Assist Pages, I get the same error message (An unidentified error has occurred). I did notice that in Navicat, my settings included a Port 3306 definition, but didn't find any means to define a port in the Data Assist wizard.

Also checked my Site definition and confirmed that I do have a Test Server defined. Its the same server as my production web hosting server, but with a folder created called "testserver". Dreamweaver is able to put files to this testserver directory and the "Test" control confirms the connections works and that the directory exists. As a note, my MQSQL server is not the same as my Web hosting server (or my Test Server)

Any other suggestions??

Thanks

if you set dreamweaver to use the remote server as the testing server, the database it will connect to is the remote one, it will not be able to connect to your local testing MySQL Server unless you set the testing server settings to connect to your local php server.

where the testing server settings are set to use the remote server, your database connection should also be connecting to the remote MySQL server.

Site Manager Settings for Test Server

The MySQL database is actually hosted on a completely different server (hardware) sql5c38a.carrierzone.com

The images below (private) are my settings for Navicat that work and allow me to access the MySQL database with out any problems. The other images are of my Dreamweaver Site settings and what I'm trying to set for the Dynamic MYSQL Database connection when using Data Assist Page wizard.

I recently updated the Site Manager, Test Server Advance settings for the Server Model to PHP MySQL....but the results are the same.

I'm still getting the same error message.

Any other suggestions

what version of Data Bridge is installed?

Make sure you have the latest version, 1.1.4 installed.

I just upgraded my Data Assist V2.0.1 today....with the Data Bridge suite V1.1.4. I'm on a MAC....using Dreamweaver CC. I've also noticed that if I create a new PHP file....and try to create a Database using the Database Tab based on this link
