Install Error

Hello,

Despite already owning all but two of the included extensions, I had to buy something called Design Extender today so that all the other extensions I'd previously bought work with CS6.

However, when I installed it, I received an error message relating to a javascript error and CSS Menu Writer. Does this mean I can't use it from within Design Extender?

Did you uninstall Menu Writer form the Extension manager before installing Design Extender.

All of the extensions that are bundled into design extender need to be uninstalled from the extension manager before installing design extender, design extender replaces them.

Hello - it's version 2.06. I think this is the latest version. Do I need to remove it? Does Design Extender put a later version back?

yes, you should uninstall Menu Writer.

Design Extender includes Menu Writer. It includes the following extensions:
-- CSS Sculptor
-- CSS Menu Writer
-- Framework Builder
-- PowerCMS Builder
-- Pro Maps for Google
-- Site Import
-- Site Sculptor
-- Social Media Toolkit

if you have any of those installed, you should uninstall them before installing Design Extrender.

Design Extender replaces those extensions.

I don't think that has cured the error. After uninstalling CSS Menu Writer from the extension manager, it now doesn't appear to be available from within Design Extender. The option is there but nothing occurs when I select it.

Also, I now see other error messages.

did you also uninstall design Extender then reinstall it after uninstalling the other extensions?

I uninstalled CSS Menu Writer (latest version) and then uninstalled Design Extender.

Next, I reinstalled Design Extender.

However, I still see three other error messages.

to correct the error, reset the workspace layout.

go to Window -> Workspace Layout -> Reset '<Your layout name>'

Yes - that seems to have cured it.
