WA Upgrade Strategy...

Whilst I am completely supportive of WA's product development and evolution through the release of improved products, I am however really struggling with paying to update my legacy extensions.

Yes, WA is offering upgrade discount, but its not enough to encourage me to completely write off my current investments in WA, of which is considerable (33 transactions totalling over $1900). Well its considerable in my world!

The latest Data Bridge and Design Extenders are I am sure excellent products, however, I have working WA extensions that will do the same thing.

I'm therefore kinda frustrated to receive offers emailed from WA offering me the same capability and functionality, which in my view is everything I have rolled up into a single release.... for another $500.

I guess my real point is; c'mon WA, you need to think about repeat business a bit more intelligently, if you want existing customers to engage and support WA with ongoing product development, you are going to need to improve your offers and discounts. I for one, see no value whatsoever in spending another $500 in what I consider the same functionality currently available in Data Bridge & Extender.

If it were my business I would be going to my valued customer database and community asking them more questions such as what would they be prepared to pay.....

....Do you want to ask me or do you feel someone like me should and would pay what your looking for?

Interesting eh!

Any thoughts from anyone?

I orginally thought the same way as you but I did pay for the upgrade which is if you own many of the extensions considerably lower than $500 it depends on how many you own. Datassist is DA 3 not 2 so thats an upgrade. The intergration is brilliant with saving presets of designs and forms to use in dataassist. Seriously, I am so pleased I upgraded but I did have serious doubts and was vocal about them too.

this isnt just a bundle of existing extensions it really is an upgrade to a far superior product.

Just my 2 cents..

Regards

Mike

The stability and integration of all the extensions makes the upgrade worth it in its own right. Even though I don't use the wizards so don't really benefit from that side of things, just the speed improvements and reliability of the extensions made the upgrade worth it.

Plus not having to install individual extensions is great, and everything is neatly placed in WebAssist menus in Dreamweaver (apart from eCart which I am sure will follow)

My recommendation would be to upgrade to both DE and DB. At the prices WA charge you will very quickly get your money back.

Cheers
Ian

Paul, give us a call or send an email to sales@webassist. com. Based on your order history I think we can get you a much better upgrade price than $500... it will probably be closer to half that.
