Not working with template

Not working with template

I have a problem with framework builder.

I created a template with an editable region.

Scenario 1: If I apply framework to the template, then create a page from the template, the 'plugin page' doesnt show up on the page I created from the template.

Scenarion 2: If I create a page from the template then add the plugin inside the 'editable region' the page IS displayed just fine, BUT. If after adding the plugin i go back and make a change in the template ... which is pretty common, the plugin in the page created from the template is gone and doesnt work anymore.

How should I add the framework and to which page ?

Hi
By any chance when you edited the template:

1. did you remove or change the name of the editable region (this would stop the plugin being displayed)

2. when you edit a template upload the edited template to your server.

I expect there was a change in the editable region name.

Hope that helps.

I didnt remove anything in the editable region. This is the code of the editable region in the template:

<div class="content">
<!-- Begin body -->
<div class="inner_wrapper"><!-- TemplateBeginEditable name="body" --> <!-- TemplateEndEditable --></div><!-- End body --></div>

I just went ahead and changed something in the template. opened the page that i created using the template and the plugin that was inside the editable region no longer works.

The code on that page where the editable region is looks like this:
<!-- InstanceBeginEditable name="body" --> <?php echo((isset($WA_page1_1339300095006))?$WA_page1_1339300095006->Body:"") ?><!-- InstanceEndEditable -->

so that code seems to remain there, but some other code that is needed dissapears from the page when the template is edited. Is there any other piece of code added to this page when the plugin is put in place that could be removed when the template is changed ? that is my best guess ...

I also found this code on the header of the page:

<?php echo((isset($WA_page1_1339298445876))?$WA_page1_1339298445876->Head:"") ?><?php echo((isset($WA_page1_1339300095006))?$WA_page1_1339300095006->Head:"") ?>

but still doenst work.

Not sure of the in and outs of what code should be on the page.

You create a template in DW
You then convert this to a Theme.
You add the plugins to the pages created from the theme.

Any changes you make are then made to the DW template not to the theme page.

Is this the process you are using? Its working fine on mine. Probably get more help on Monday when WA guys are back.

Sorry I cant help much more than the process what I use.

I created template
I added editable region to template
I created page from theme

I didnt convert to 'theme', what do you mean by this ?

In the webassiist menu for Framework there is an option that you should appy to the DW template it is "create theme". You can then "create a page from theme"

Hope that helps you.

After i create a 'theme' can I go in and modify it ?

You can edit the DW template then upload it to the server any changes will reflect by framework.

Just ensure you keep the same editable regions.

Once you master the themes you can then use the dynamic ones :)

gotcha ... so far seems to work fine. I will try dynamic regions later. Thx for the help.
