Add Lightbox to PowerCMS

Greetings! I love PowerCMS. It is really the easiest to use of all the CMS's that are out there. Especially compared to trying to teach a client how to use WordPress.

My clients really like PowerCMS but one feature that I keep hearing from them is that they are missing the ability to add there own lightbox to an editable area.

As such my clients workflow is that they would take a whole bunch of digital pictures, they already have a page on their website (or even just after a particular topic), they want to insert 5 or 6 images of their recent work.

Well they can certainly upload one image at a time. But some clients are so technically challenged that even this can be hard for them. I have also noticed that some clients are not able to upload their digital images because they are so large now!

Some kind of wizard based insert feature would be great where it creates a thumbnail and the lightbox pop up right in the PowerCMS editor would be awesome!

Personally I think it is a must have feature.

Thanks again!
Martin

Hi. Any notes if this was received or at least being considered?

Hi Gavin,

No I have not heard anything on this feature request... Would be really nice though.

The Engineering team frequently looks through the wishlist forum to see what features are being requested to take them under consideration.

what you are asking really sounds like Power Gallery, embedding a gallery in your CMS Content area, this can already be done, but takes a little hand coding on your part to accomplish.

see this post for details:

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the reply! Much appreciated.

How I envisioned it working was as something extremely simple for my clients to use.

It would work just the same as adding an image to a page (just like you would currently in Power CMS Builder). You would click the add lightbox gallery and a wizard would walk you through adding your images. It would have to be so simple as my clients are so non-technical.

There are tons of WordPress Lightbox plugins out there as examples. Maybe you guys should start thinking about a plugin approach to Power CMS? This is something I would gladly pay extra for.

Cheers,
Martin

Too funny. I just had a client contact me today wanting to add in pictures to their gallery page. Man this would be a really useful feature for my clients to have.

Thanks again,
Martin
