"> in button insert

"> in button insert

In dreamweaver I insert a button in a PHP file. I then save that file format to HTM to view on my website. I assume this is how everyone does it?

When I view on my website I always see the symbols "> in front of the buttons I inserted. this is for both the buy now and checkout buttons.

How do I get rid of this?

eCart creates php code on your page.

to use eCart, your page needs to be saved using the PHP file extension.

Make sure the file is saved to your site as a php file before adding the eCart add to cart behavior.

trying to load PHP file

I was saving the file in HTM format because I keep receving this error message when I try to view a saved php file within my website:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=', expecting T_STRING or T_VARIABLE or '{' or '$' in /home/nitro2/public_html/WA_eCart/eCart1_PHP.php on line 283

I contacted my server and they have made sure that I have the latest PHP version with them. Still get the syntax error message.

What is wrong?

Trying to load PHP file

I'm not sure what to send you. Here is one of the web pages with the error on it:

webassisttest.php

I look at the actual file in Dreamweaver and it appears empty.

My apologies for being dense...
I tried to upload that file from my Dreamweaver file and I got an invalid error.
Where would I find this file?

in Dreamweaver, right click the file and select "Reveal In Finder" for Mac, Or "Explore" for Windows.

make a copy of it to save on your desktop, then compress it to a zip archive and attach the zip file to your reply.

in the eCart object, you have created a new cart column that has not been given a name.

you will need to delete the unnamed cart column, see attached screen shot.
