Can we loose the Captcha on every post?

Can we loose the Captcha on every post?

Those captcha images are tough to decipher and having to enter them on every post is really annoying.

Why do we need them on every post or reply? You have already authenticated the user via login.

Save that stuff for registration.

Well, it won't let me edit the title. I do know the difference between loose and lose. Alas.

We were still getting a lot of spam to the forums. A dozen posts a day and sometimes fourty or more over the weekend.

I thought we needed to try something, and this option was immediately available.

Since implementing, we haven't had the bursts of 20 or more spams with pornography in succession like we did before... we can probably create another user group in the forum for confirmed active users and have the CAPTCHA not show for you and others that we know won't be using it for spam. I'll see what we can get set up.

Captcha Eliminated for Active Members

I added a setting that should eliminate Captcha for members who have posted 15+ times. We will need to evaluate our spam levels and determine if this is the right setting.

In the meantime, please let me know if it is not working for you as I have not tested with a new account yet. You may need to start a new browser session and log in again.

Try Again

Hi Jon, I've tinkered with the settings. Would you mind logging back in and seeing if the post requires CAPTCHA for you now? Thanks!

Inside Workings of the CAPTCHA rule

Essentially the system schedules you for a promotion to a usergroup that does not require CAPTCHA after 15 posts. The system runs the promotions on a daily basis so you may hit a bit over 15 posts just due to the system's timing... please give it a day if it's not automatic. Thanks!
