upgrading Dreamweaver cs3

I am thinking of upgrading from DW cs3 and wonder which would be preferable.

I believe that some extensions are OK for cs6 but not all yet, may 2012

Perhaps I should go for 5 or 5.5

What advantages will I see from cs3.

Thanks for any advice.

at this time, only eCart 5, Data Bridge and Design Extender are compatible with Dreamweaver CS6.

We will be evaluating the other extensions in the coming months, but this will take some time with 30 extension to go through.

CS5.5 would be the best bet for the stand alone extensions, it included many updates over CS3, most notably CSS3 and HTML 5 updates.

Thanks Jason
So 5.5 is compatible with all WA extensions including Data Bridge and Design Extender?

yes, that is correct, but with Design Extender and Data Bridge, you will not need most of the other extensions, sine the are integrated into those 2.

I wondered if all WA extensions are now ready for DW cs6.

I see adobe will not allow upgrades of cs3 after 30 December 2012 so if I upgrade to cs6 will all my WA extensions work?

Thanks for your advise

No, the stand alone extensions will not be updated for DW CS6. We are running a holiday sale on Super Suite upgrades, though. Since you have purchased a previous version of super suite, we are offering an upgrade price of $149 through the Holiday's. contact the sales department and they will be able to help you with the upgrade.

Thanks Jason
I did not realise there was an upgrade to supersite is there anywhere I can see the advantages of an upgrade.
Would it have any benefits to upgrade to a lower DW say cs5?

The new version of super suite is comprised of eCart5, Data Bridge and Design Extender.

for more details on the advantages of design Extender, see the design extender page:
