Default Currency ZAR

Is there any way that I can allow for South African Rand to be a default currency for my store without affecting the integrity of the eCart system?

yes, you will need to edit the code that tells the gateway what currency you are using. depending on the gateway you use, the code change will be different, what gateway are you planning to use?

authorize.net

Authorize.net is most likely to be my choice.

on the confirm page, there will be code similar to:

php:

$AuthNet_optional[0][$nextIndex] = "x_currency_code";

  $AuthNet_optional[1][$nextIndex] = "USD";

that will need to be changed to use your currency:

php:

$AuthNet_optional[0][$nextIndex] = "x_currency_code";

  $AuthNet_optional[1][$nextIndex] = "ZAR";
