Connecting to Database POWWEB

What HostingPlans preferably shared are people having success using the WebAssist products with?

For the last few weeks somehow I was able to FTP direct to my hosting accounts; create databases in PhpMyAdmin/MySQL and then use PowerCMSBuilder to make connection and upload files so I could get CMS going.

All of sudden I cannot make a connection to my Databases from Dreamweaver except for the FTP. This is really frustrating.

some hosts will require that you add your computers IP address to an allowed list in order to connect to the mysql server from dreamweaver, you should contact your host to determine if this is a requirement or not.

connecting to database

Yes...I am aware of this.

What I am asking are names of HOSTING COMPANIES that WebAssist recommends.

Or can you point me to the documentation on how after I create a LOCALHOST connection and create a CMS------what are the steps to transfer the database to the remote server and get it to work on the remote server.

Obviously it wouldn't help any of my clients to simply have a CMS located on a local pc.

Where is the documentation on how to do this???

Dreamhost and 1 & 1 are hosts i have had good luck with.

the steps to transfer the local database to your remote server are to use PHPMyAdmin to export the database from your local server, the use PHP MyAdmin on the remote server to Import the database.

there are many tutorial for importing and exporting using PHPMyAdmin on the web, this page has a good one:
mysql_export.htm

You would also need to edit the connection file to connect to the remote MySQL server.
