Unable to edit database - first content area with PCMS

Hi there,
I'm trying to use Power CMS for the first time and I've read similar threads about solving this problem, but I can't work it out.

I have made my connection to the database with a testing server. all ok.
Then, I try to add the first content area in POwerCMS and it gives me an error message
"unable to edit database with provided uer credentials" etc etc.
I have checked and user access is all privelages. so ok.
Looking at other threads, this may be an issue with the testing server set up. But I can't see where. I am attaching a zip file of these settings, in the hope that you can please point me in the right direction.

Thanks very much in advance.

Same problem... no solution yet

I get this message ... Unable to edit database - first content area with PCMS ... The server is localhost . I have checked the PowerCMSConnection and the provided test button executes successfully.

Please help. All MySQL username and password have been checked and they are ok... MySQL commadline works.

Thanks for yourcontinuous assistance to all.

this error is an issue with the Dreamweaver site settings for connecting to the testing server.

make sure you have the correct settings for connecting to the testing server in your site definition.

Same problem has appeared again Feb2014

Hi there,
This same issue has appeared agin on a site I'm working on. Testing server all connected, Connections uploaded etc, but I can't add a CMS content area. It gives me the same error message as above stating incorrect permissions etc or no connection uploaded.
As per result of last query in 2012, I've checked and checked the testing server and set up new ftp connections but nothing works.

I'm running a database on a different server (this is testing server too) to the host server - is this a problem?
Thanks in advance.

Probably, most likely the MySQL server is not allowing the outside connection. you should double check with the MySQL Server admin.

I am the server admin! External connection allowed.
I create websites for clients. Usually they have hosting accounts on my server, and I set up the same Dreamweaver server connection for remote and testing servers. When I apply this CMS to a database driven site, it is all fine - and thankfully no issues.
This time, my client is using his own hosting account with another provider, and whatever I try, I can't make connection to their MySQL server and database. So as a solution I thought I'd run the database on my server and connect via testing server to allow the CMS on ONE page only of the website.
:-( Its giving me headache.

OK - so this morning I was able to make connection to the client's hosting account to start the CMS, but when the admin wizard was setting up and performing the Diagnostic check, it failed at the PHP 4.4.9-1.standard, saying "PHP is running is safe mode. Contact your hosting provider to turn off safe mode."
I have asked the clients hosting provider to do this, but no response so far. If they CAN'T / WON'T turn off safe mode, is there alternative?

Diagnostics now fine and CMS installed - all files uploaded, but the home/admin page after login is not showing correctly - it looks as though files are still missing. I attach a screenshot of the admin page. Whats the solution please?
