Login gotoPreviousURL does not work

I have used Security Assist to create the different pages and applied an access check on one file.

The problem is that after login in, instead of going back to the previous URL, it stays on the login page with the message : "You have been logged in".

I checked in the login.php file and found :
"gotoPreviousURL" => TRUE,
"keepQueryString" => TRUE

So what is not working ?

make sure the action of the login form, uses the following code:

 action="<?php echo htmlspecialchars($_SERVER["PHP_SELF"]); ?><?php echo (isset($_SERVER["QUERY_STRING"]) && $_SERVER["QUERY_STRING"] != "")?"?".htmlspecialchars($_SERVER["QUERY_STRING"]):""?>"

now i can't log in, when I remove the code you suggested the log in works but does not redirect to the last page visited? I'm replaying to this thread because the thread i was working in told me to look here and when i try to reply to my original the reCAPTCHA does not show up and will not apply me to reply.
