Feedback: Security Assist Wizard

I'm not entirely convinced that release v2 is adding much value over v1 in terms of functionality and cost.

The new UI does take a bit of figuring out but the biggest issue for me is a lack of user-control over the form and page structure it creates when compiling the pages. I am finding the time (my time) taken to unpick the form and field css in order to integrate with my page theme and style etc, completely undermines the savings benefit intended by the extension designers.

Secondly the cost. The upgrade was $75. For me V1 did what it said on the tin, albeit after a number of releases, but it delivered a set of working pages with little fuss. Unfortunately, i didnt use the extension untill well after the money back guarantee and as i have now reverted back to v1 i feel frustrated about the money ive wasted.

My wish for future SA versions would be to think long and hard about the quality and value of the features offered, how they can be applied and value they offer to the designer - then make it bullet proof.

Id certainly like to see Facebook API login added as well as other API intergrated.

Paul,

Why not create your pages / forms first, as you want them, and then apply the SA server behaviours afterwards, rather than use the wizards.

Mike good shout regarding the Social logins.

Sure as a temp workaround, but for the money, id expect that as core functionality.

I don't believe thats a work around.

In my eyes thats developing my own application but using the WA tools to apply the programming functionality.

I've never once used the wizards that come with the software as I like to put my own stamp on the look and feel of my sites / applications, and by applying the server behaviours to my own pages I feel I am more in control of being able to add bespoke functionality above and beyond the extensions.

But thats just me....

I thought i'd follow this up buy creating a basic page with form fields and attempt to apply SA server behaviour to create a registration page.

Well, it appears that the only option to do this outside of a the SA wizard is to use Datassists behaviours (or DW's). I was under the impression from the earlier post, that SA behaviours could be applied

Am i missing something here, or can one only create a reg page using the SA wizard?

Thanks, Paul.

The security assist wizard uses the Data Assist Insert record behavior for storing the registration information to the database.

a registration page is nothing more than a form that uses an insert record behavior.

The insert record Behavior from security assist is the Data Assist insert record behavior.
