WA Search Results?

Ok, I created a form using the WA Search Wizard. So it created the form, how do you create the results?

Should it not create a results recordset or something? Otherwise I really don't see the point of the search wizard if you still have to write all the SQL yourself?

before running the DataAssist Search wizard you need to create the results page with a basic recordset on it, and design the results display by adding the recordset bindings to the page and adding a repeat region.

the recordset can be a simple "SELECT * FROM tblName" or you can create a more complex one using a join, or add any default filtering you may want.

you should have the results page open when you run the DataAssist Search wizard. The Search wizard creates the search form and adds the DataAssist Search behavior to the results page that will take the search terms entered and dynamically update the recordset to include the search criteria.

If you want DataAssist to do all the work of creating both the results page and the search page, run the main DataAssist wizard and select to only create the search and results pages by unchecking the other pages on the first step of the wizard.
