DataAssist crash in CS4, CS5 and CS5.5

In all of the above versions of Dreamweaver, DataAssist 2.1.0 crashes itself and Dreamweaver after selecting the pages to be created on the first DataAssist wizard screen and trying to go to the next step. This is under Windows 7 64 bit and on multiple machines with multiple installs. Following the instructions concerning deleting the entire configuration folder as well as the Dreamweaver keys in the registry has no effect.

The crash occurs upon DataAssist attempting to reach the testing server, with the window labeled: file activity - (the name of the server) - not responding.

Watching Windows 7 Resource Monitor shows Dreamweaver not responding with multiple threads in the Wait Chain increaseing as time goes by.

The testing server itself is running fine with normal loads and all other activity in and out of the server are running fine as well.

Any ideas, anyone?

are you using a local testing server or a remote server for testing?

This type of behavior usually happens when using a remote server as the testing server. I recommend using a local testing server set up to prevent this.

Dreamweaver is problematic when dealing with remote servers, the connection threads will ofter fail to connect, but not closes properly.

Using a local testing server platform prevents these issues with the server connection.
