Using eCart for static site without database

I'm adding an ecart shopping cart to my site. Due to the steep learning curve and insufficient training manuals and tutorials for your products, I do not wish to deal with a database. Your FAQ states that a database is necessary for order details and information to be stored. Is this necessary? My site will not be generating a huge volume of sales. Can I just have an email sent to me when an order is submitted with the order info: customer's name, contact info, shipping info, and items ordered and then enter that info manually on my computer? If I can set it up to do this, it would be sufficient for my needs.

P.S. Why not have a product manual? It seems like at least 400 pages of instruction is needed to fully explain how to use a product like Dynamic Suite. I would be willing to read it if such a thing existed. That might make it possible for me to create a dynamic site. Instead, I spent money on something I am incapable of using, or even learning to use without spending hundreds or thousands of dollars for one on one phone support. The forum is not a viable substitute for a manual. It is more like an incomplete manual with the steps out of order and hidden.

yes, a database is necessary if you wish to store the information about items purchased at the time of checkout.

you do not need to store the info to a database if you don't wish. If you have universal Email (or CSS Form Builder) and choose to use on of the local checkout options (or not to use a gateway), you can configure to have a receipt send at checkout time, the receipt will be sent to the purchaser, you can configure to have a copy sent to the store owner.

More tutorials?

Thank you for your response. I guess I'll need to use a database.

What about the instruction manual issue, though? Can you tell why none exists? Is there one in the works? The getting started guides and tutorials are ok, but they are the equivalent of section 1 of a 40 section manual. I need the other 39 sections. Even what info you do provide in your online documentation presupposes I have knowledge I do not possess. I'm no dolt. I taught myself web design in Dreamweaver with the tutorials provided by Adobe, but I'm really stuggling to figure out your products with the limited info provided. I'm sorry if this post sounds angry at all. I'm just a little frustrated, that's all. Thank you :)

each product has built in help documentation to describe the functionality of various behaviors included with each extension.

the getting started guides are in place to help you get started using those behaviors.

on each products support page, have how to and solution recipes to help with common specific tasks.

If there is a specific task you are trying to accomplish but are struggling with, you can ask for guidance here.
