Content in database doesn't show in CMS

I have added some content to the CMS via Dreamweaver in my local database. I have then copied and pasted the content from my local database to the remote database. All is fine as far as displaying on the public side of the website, and when I log into the CMS, the page in question has the edit icons appear so I can click between the public site to the CMS and back.

The problem is that even though the DB's between local and remote seem the same, the content I pasted into the remote DB doesn't show in the list on the left side! I can't figure out why. I can edit it by navigating from the public page to the CMS, but I can't navigate to the same content from another part of the CMS. It's not there! If I try to add what is apparently missing, I am told the content already exists!

What's going on and how do I fix it?

Thanks

Mat
