Problems with new Google Map Ext

Hi,

I have a working map at map.php
This was done with the old stand alone google map extension and works fine.

I wanted to rework the page and got a new API key and tried to make it work and was unable to. I keep getting a message that
"Google has disabled use of the Maps API for this application. The provided key is not a valid Google API key, or it is not authorized for the Google Maps Javascript API V3 on this site. If you are the owner of the application you can learn about obtaining a valid key here:
tutorial.html#Obtaining_Key
I've done this several times to no avail.

The non working page is at map3.php

and you will note I haven't made any changes to it I'm just trying to get it to work.

Your api key doesn't look right. I'm looking at the code and it has spaces in it. I think you must be getting it from the wrong place. The error implies you have the wrong api key, and looking at your code it doesn't appear to be correct.

I'll get a new key today

the old key has underscores in it:
AIzaSyDOnFvoDgvqsEKwde9f7j_UpFaoUiFF3_s

I looked and that's the key in my Google API area, but I will get a new key today and try it. I have done that before.

It's good to know the code looks correct.

EDITED:

I have added a new API Key

Key for browser apps (with referers) API key: AIzaSyBS6BoqOZQWKQngjWFt0fwOFhI3bSZjx3o
IPs: Referers: Any referer allowed Any IP allowed

You probably need to turn the map api v3 service on.

Go to the services menu on the left hand side of the Google API Console and make sure the Google Maps API v3 is turned to the "ON" position.

I turned that on, and also made sure the code called V3

I seem to be OK now, Thank you for your patience with me on this!

Still having problems

It works until I go back into dreamweaver and make a change, then the area goes white again. Looks like the code changes and it stops working even if I do not get the original API message.

I think I'm going to have to go back to the old Pro maps, I can't waste anymore time on something that used to be so simple.

Is there any newer documentation coming?

Still Working on it.

i got one version working on one of my sites, I deleted everything and went from scratch and it came to life.

However on another site the "A" Map Marker will not appear.

map.php

Can't figure it out

I'm not sure i follow, what do you mean by the "A" marker?

when i load your page, I see the marker for the destination address:

Willow Brook Farm
138 Wykertown Road
Branchville, New Jersey 07826

if i enter my address:
35 Northey st
Salem Ma, 01970

I see the directions from point A to Point B appear.

Fixed

Sorry I was working and didn't post this reply.

I deleted everything and started from scratch (just like I did on the other site) and everything worked.

Yes the A and B markers are there, before I just had the B marker.

I think my SOP in the future will be, when in doubt start from scratch. It's not that much work to do that anyway.
