Validation Toolkit crashes DW CS5.5

Validation Toolkit crashes DW CS5.5

I just installed Validation Toolkit on a windows 7 64 bit machine running Xamp as a server and Dreamweaver CS5.5.

The first time I tried to use it I got an error message about Flash trying to access a site called null. That was easily fixed by allowing flash to access all my websites.

Then Dreamweaver crashed every time I ran a test validation on a file. It was unable to find any related files. As soon as I removed the server validation, Dreamweaver had no difficulty in finding the related files, and the page worked perfectly - of course with no validation being done. So it looks like its only the WA related files that it cannot find.
This extension is not the best documented one produced by WA, as it is not at all user friendly, but nevertheless, I have used it before on CS4 with none of these problems.
Its the latest version of the validation kit as I just downloaded it today, so I am a bit miffed. Is it supposed to be compatible with CS5.5 on a 64 bit machine (even though Dreamweaver always runs in 32 bit mode)?
I did follow the intructions in the readme file to install a replacement file, and expected that would be the end of the matter - but no.
Has anyone got a cure for this?

No validation toolkit is not compatible with Dreamweaver CS5.

It has been replaced by the CSS Form Builder or Form Toolkit extensions

CSS Form Builder contains all of the functionality of Validation Toolkit, Universal Email, Digital File Pro and HTML Editor 2. There is a wizard to use for building your forms.

Form Toolkit includes the functionality of Validation toolkit, and adds Captcha and a Date picker capabilities. use this if you prefer to build your forms yourself and add validation to them.

While the Validation Toolkit pdf (which incidentally comes up with an error message in my browser) does state that it needs CS4, perhaps it would be a good idea to also state on your info pages when a product is no-longer compatible with the current version. It would have saved me and perhaps a lot of others a lot of wasted time.
Do you have a list of those extensions that now are compatible with CS5.5, particularly as CS6 is now available?

validation toolkit has been discontinued for some time now, and was replaced by form toolkit.
