How do you get a Google API now?

Google has changed it's pages as linked by the ProMaps extension. How do you get the API now?

you need to log into the Google API MAnager:
console

On the left hand menu click the services link.

Find the Google Maps API V2 service in the list and toggle the button from off to on.

Hi Jason, followed your instructions above. Do we still need to get a key? A bit lost... thanks

Ignore above. I was reading that api key was notneeded at all. In the end I have used the one provided via the console. All works fine. Thanks

I assume that Google Maps API v3 is currenty the correct service since v2 is officially deprecated.

Both the V2 and V3 API can be used, they are both "correct"
