Same Extensions?

Same Extensions?

I'm not sure I understand the benefits of Design Extender if you already own those extensions? Has there been an update to any of the extensions?

I saw the advertisement for a NEW Dreamweaver extension on your site (and Facebook) and admittedly I got all excited.

Am I wrong or is this another sale badged as a brand new extension?

* Don't get me wrong though, people. If you're a developer and you don't own these extensions now's the time to get it. They're good. I've just had it with sale after sale undercutting the original price ... and I've spent $2,215 with these guys since 2008.

yes, design extender combines the existing existing extensions:
*CSS Sculptor
*CSS Menu Writer
*Framework Builder
*PowerCMS Builder
*Pro Maps for Google
*Site Import
*Site Sculptor
*Social Media Toolkit

it is not a "sale badged as a new extension", it is a new extension that is geared towards addressing the major complaints we keep getting.

The issues design extender addresses are:
*to many individual MXP Files makes the extensions too confusing to install.
*Activating the individual extensions takes to long.
*Conflicts on installing different extensions.

we have been trying to combine extensions together to address these issues.

Hi Jason

I think this is a great idea, and am hoping that there will be a similar release for things like Security Assist which did seem to create a few compatibility issues along the way.

Good work!

Cheers
Ian

1 question:

1. Will support and future updates of discovered bugs continue for people who already bought the individual extensions contained in the new bundle pack or will improvements and updates only be released for the bundle?

Regards,
Martin J.

we will continue to support and do bug fixes for individual versions.

However, major updates and new features will only be added to the Design Extender product.

Sorry to be on at you about this, Jason, but can you clarify what that means? Do I need to own Design Extender in order to receive an updated version of Framework Builder or a new version of CSS Menu Writer 2 for example?

If Design Extender's aim is to address major complaints you keep getting for the installation of those 8 extensions, for those people that already own those 8 extensions, how is this not a bug fix? The extensions themselves aren't being updated, yet we're expected to fork out $40 for the privilege of a single installation file in order to get possible major updates and new features (which may or may not come at a cost).

Bug fixes an updates will continue to be released for the single products.

Upgrades, however, which would be major new releases, will not be released for the single extension.

So for example, Framework builder 1 updates will be made available, but Framework Builder 2 would not be available as a stand alone extension.

Updates (minor version releases) have always been made available to owners of the existing extensions.

Upgrades (major releases with new features) have always been made available to existing users at a discounted price.
