issue using $_SESSION[$PID.'_proof'] to save to database

i have some fields set to save the database using the value: $_SESSION[$PID.'_proof']

i have a variety of this in variation all using the $PID.
im getting the cannot modify headers error

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /home/alisuew2/public_html/new/card_confirm.php:571) in /home/alisuew2/public_html/new/card_confirm.php on line 671

Line 571 is the script saving to order details table.

is there anyway i can define $PID so that it can use that? i have it defined earlier in the code but its not able to use it for some reason.

thanks - i already read that message tho. i know i am looking on the right line in the code. im not understanding how that message answers my question.

i know its related to using the $PID in $_SESSION[$PID.'_proof'] . because i removed this value and its processing fine now.

can you please review my question again.
