File Manipulation Upload Wizard to Crop Images?

File Manipulation Upload Wizard to Crop Images?

So I have large images that are being uploaded and I'm creating three different copies at different sizes. For one of those, I want to have the page crop the image to a 60 x 60 pixel thumbnail, regardless of orientation of the photo. So if it is 460 x 620, it would scale the 460 to 60, and proportionally scale the other dimension, and then crop to get it down to 60.

It appears neither the "Fit to Box" nor "Fixed Width and Height" do this. One, simply ensures the image doesn't exceed the dimensions, the other will artificially add a background color to extend the image to the proper proportions. I don't want it to do either, just crop it.

Anyone have any ideas?

The File Manipulation behaviour doesn't support cropping to the best of my knowledge, only resizing at this present time.

You would need to do a bit of hand coding to execute a crop.

that is correct, the upload behavior will not crop, only resize.

Image Resizer?

Wow. That would seem like a basic requirement to me. Does Image Resizer offer this feature and if so, can it be integrated into a dataassist insert and update behavior?

no, image resizer will resize the images, not crop them.

Jason it states that Image Resizer DOES crop in the feature list (advertised on your website) for that extension:
◦
->Crop from center

I was looking up as I also need a cropping feature and it seems that Image Resizer will crop from center. if this is correct then I am going to purchase.
(side note: does the DESIGN EXTENDER extension come with 'Image Resizer'?)

Image Resizer will crop images, i misread the original question as asking about the the File manipulation behavior.

No the Design Extender extension does not come with Image Resizer, nor is Image Resizer a part of the Design Extender extension.
