SSL issues

Hi Jason

I hope this is not serious issue but I have my doubts....

The site www.pcjsealers.co.uk holds 4 normal php pages plus links

One of these links leads to a directory called pcj_store which holds all the ps4 files.

According to fasthosts the link to the store files should be

pcj_store/

which is their ssl server.

So when I use the link to go to the store the address shown is

pcj_store/

When I view a products details I seethe link

products_detail.php?ProductID=3

when I press add to cart I see

cart.php

when I select check out I see

checkout.php which I suspect should be

a different format and I get a certificate error

This may happen on other pages just haven't tried them all yet

Would appreciate some help asI need to get this site live

My hosting company is one of the biggest here in the Uk Fasthosts

thanks

Ian

Hello Ian,

I understand that it is purely a matter of choice, but what are your reasons for having SSL on an product detail page? I can understand it for customer registration details, login etc.

I imagine the error is occurring on your last page because you have switched back to your own domain, for which you don't have a valid SSL certificate. It looks like you are using Fasthosts (eek!) shared SSL space rather than having an SSL certificate installed on your own site.

If you don't have an SSL certificate on your own domain you will generally get errors thrown if you try to access it with , when it needs to be http://

Cheers
Ian

update

Hi

yes I am using fasthosts shared space.

After messages on this board and talking to fasthosts they advised the best way to setup ssl was to use the powerstore folder as an ssl source.

Hence I created an ssl folder called pcj_store and then uploaded my ps4 files to a folder in my htdocs called pcj_store.

I can then access the store using the link

pcj_store/

Not sure what the solution is I suppose I could manually change all the links or

Leave the store in a standard folder and put the checkout files in the ssl but this I suspect would still need manual, changing of link?

Hopefully Jason will come up with a suggestion

cheers

Ian

yeah, this is an issue with using a shared ssl certificate.

in the webassist/plugins/shopping_cart/checkout_form.php file, change:

php:
$testRedirect = "https://".$_SERVER['SERVER_NAME'].$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'];

to:

php:
$testRedirect = "https://secure16.prositehosting.co.uk".$_SERVER['REQUEST_URI'];

Jason, I think I have a similar issue.

Cart is on main domain. Client changed name of company, so I made an alias to a new domain. All links are to new domain.

Reinstalled a missing ssl cert yesterday for original domain. While in the aliased domain, the "not trusted" message shows up when it gets to ..... cart.php and checkout.php.

Is there something I can change to enter the original domain for the ssl cert on the cart.php and checkout.php pages?

thanks

the checkout page is throwing up the warning...

what is the warning? I cannot troubleshoot an error if I only know that one is happening, and not what it says.

please provide a link where i can see the problem
