News Articles like PowerStore but using cms builder

Hi,

I would like to add the function you have for news articles on your PowerStore home page that shows articles and a read more link automatically appearing after a few lines of the news article to view full news - how would I get this kind of thing done for my CMS builder pages. Ive setup my news page as a template page - please advise.

this will take some custom coding to accomplish.

in the CMS Admin pane, create a new content area named "News", set it to be a template.

If you examine the power store webassist/plugins/cms_templates/news.php page you should be able to get a good idea how to display the news articles.


on that page, there is a recordset named "CMStoRS" using the following query:
SELECT C2.ContentGroup, C2.ContentPageSetOrder
FROM ps4_contents AS C1 LEFT OUTER JOIN ps4_contents AS C2 ON C2.ContentPagesetParentID = C1.ContentID
WHERE C1.ContentGroup = 'News' AND C2.ContentPageSetOrder IS NOT NULL
GROUP BY C2.ContentPageSetOrder
ORDER BY C2.ContentPageSetOrder DESC

this returns the news articles.


there is a repeat region to loop through the recordset and the cms code to display the news article header and content.

Thx for info Jason, I only own Powerstore 3, however, Im not sure about how to approach this - I just wish to have the same news displayed as on Powerstore 4.5

Is there an example of what the output of this sort of set up would be please? I would be interested in learnign how to do it but would ideally like to see what one could expect in the first instance?

I'm not sure what you are asking for. you could access the database directly on the server and use the SQL window of PHPMyAdmin to test the SQL and see the output.
