You can continue to use it Dave since you already own it. It just wont be available for sale anymore or included as part of the Supper suite. Nor will it be updated for new version of DW though it currently works in DW CS3 - CS5.x

I know I can :-)

something like this would make a good addition to data assist or a new data management extension if you are planning such a thing

Was this discontinued because there was something that replaced it, or is there a better method of doing this these days?

Jquery and AJAX is a much better alternative to the plain javascript methods used by Dynamic Dropdowns.

there are a number of tutorials available through Google, here a re a couple:

generating-dynamic-selection-dropdown-jquery-ajax/

autopopulate-select-dropdown-box-using-jquery/

Dear Jason,

First of all i want to say that your extensions and also the support are one of the best around. However as you mention yourself, these days new technology has come around like AJAX, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS3.
Do you as WebAssist have any intension on updating or creating new or simmilar extensions with these new technologies now or in the near future?

Another thing is that your extensions are really powerfull to do a lot of advanced stuff which are mostly not covered at all in any of your guides or tutorials. Most guides and or tutorials cover the basics only or a step by step wizard like tutorial which are build into the extensions. However a lot of people including me want to use the advanced features seperately into our custom designs or solutions. It would be a great addition if from time to time some additonal tutorials or guides would come out to cover or explain some real practice examples on how to do something with your extensions and to start it would be good to have an extension manual that covers at least all the functions inside that extension and not just the basic ones.
Again it is because your extensions are quite advanced and that's why we like them so much but still need to learn how to use them properly.

Keep up the good work and hopefully we'll see much more from you in the future.

That is a real shame. I have found this extension to be most useful and am still using it regularly.

It is sad that, instead of improving it and adapting it to present day coding trends and requirements, Web Assist prefers to discontinue the development of such as useful tool. Perhaps it is only useful for a very limited number of users and it doesn't make sense to continue its development from a business point of view.
