SA unique value validation not working with FB installed

SA unique value validation not working with FB installed

Just discovered that the unique db value type in SA server validation behaviour is not working when CSS Form Builder is installed. I tried building a SA wizard set with only SA being installed and unique db value validation is applied to email field as set in wizard. As soon a I install Form Builder that value is gone from the SA generated page (registration page)!? The option is not even present in the validation type list (In server validation dialog) anymore! There seem to be serious compability problems between SA and Form Builder!?

Because both of these extensions contain Validation behaviours you need to install SA after Form Builder to ensure that you get the latest validation rules included in SA.

Thanks Ian but I tried that also now and then I get java errors when opening and try to edit the server validation dialog on pages built with the SA extension! Where in the documentation does it say that you need to install these two extensions in that order? Just asking becuase I have been really careful reading all guides and info. It seem logical though but problem remain for me. All this trouble getting the extensions to work good with each other and all "bugs" discovered from time to time strating to get really annoying by now. I really appreciate the fast responses and help from the WA support staff and most of the time the problematic issues are solved by changing the code here or exchanging a file etc but my feeling at the moment is that the extensions are not fully tested before realeased!? Of course small bugs always appears in all software but not as many as Ive experienced using the WA extensions! My point is proven by the amount of posts dealing with problems on the forum. For someone with extended coding experience it might not be a real problem but for someone like me who's just a newbie it gets really frustrating since It's much harder to fix it manually without help. I will endure though but I really hope the coming updates to problematic extensions are tested 100% before released to work fully with the other extensions. All this installing, uninstalling and problem solving is really problematic! I have used the extensions since november last year and even if I had much use of them to learn more about code etc I feel Ive spent way too much time trying to locate problems and trying to solve them! It has come to the pouint when its not really fun anymore! The guides available are good I think but I guess most users would like to see more extensive guides in how to solve specific problems! These are my feeling at the moment but I will continue to use WA's extensions and hope for soon to be released fully functional updates!

Martin J.

I couldn't tell you if its in any WA documentation as I can honestly say I have never once read any of it!

What are the errors you are getting? Is it something to do with a library.js file?

Cheers

Ian, here is what Ive done:

1. Installed only SA on fresh DW install.
2. Created standard wizard set in SA with email as unique value.
3. Then it works.
4. uninstalled SA and DW.
5. Installed DW, then Form Builder and last SA.
6. Opened the initial created registration page and check the WA server validation behavoiur and the unique validation type previously applied to the email field is gone! I can't even create a new one but get the java scripts error as in attached image_02 (in zip file.)
7. I then try uninstall FB but still it does not work. I also get a bunch of other error messeges after deinstallation of FB. Is this screwed up or what? lol

God knows what will happen if I try to install DA also! I was told that there soon will be a new update to SA dealing with compability problems with DA 2.09? I really hope that this will fix problems occurring with SA and FB also!

If you have time please check my attached images!

Hi Martin,

Yes, I had that problem when I upgraded to SA 2.04.

For some reason I would say that the file in the JS error (WA ColumnTypes.js) is missing from your installation.

I could attach the JS to this thread, but I'm not sure that WA would be happy with me doing that.

Alternatively, there may well be another copy of this file on your hard drive that you could search for and copy to the location in the error. It's not an ideal way to resolve the issue, having to fish around files on your hard drive, but maybe Jason or Ray could open a support ticket for you if they see this thread anytime soon.

I have to say, apart from the "?" issue on the Update Behaviour DA 2.09 seems to have been working well for me alongside the other extensions.

Hope it gets sorted for you!

Cheers
Ian

Ian, no worries! Im sure Ray or Jason or some other person with the great WA support team will help me solve it! Good to know Im not alone of the problems since its harder then to know if it has something to do with my system alone. Thanks for replying and for caring!

Cheers back!

Martin J.

PS, yes DA has been working good for me also until the recent update! Im sure they'll fix this real soon! ;=)
