RepeatSelectionCounter

I would like to change the variable line: $RepeatSelectionCounter_1_Iterations = "5";

and replace the value with a variable like $imagesPerRow that is user defiinable, what would be the proper syntax to avoid getting an error in my server behaviors?

(everything seems to work okay when I replace "5" with a variable but it causes an error in server behaviors)

try this:

php:
$RepeatSelectionCounter_1_Iterations = "".$imagesPerRow  ."";

please provide a little more detail

what do you mean exactly by:
"it doesn't like that either"

is it not working in the browser?

Giving an error?

I need more details to have any idea on the what the problem is.

Sorry for being so brief Jason.

When I tried using the code that you provided I get an error (red exclamation point) in the "SERVER BEHAVIORS" panel. The page will function properly even though the error is showing in the server panel. Maybe it's okay to have the error, I don't know.

In the server behaviors panel when I use the default expression:
$RepeatSelectionCounter_1_Iterations = "5";
server behaviors displays:
Repeat Selection (WADAimages, 5)

When I use the expression:
$RepeatSelectionCounter_1_Iterations = "".$imagesPerRow."";
server behaviors displays:
! Repeat Selection (All records)

Please let me know if there is any other information that would be helpful.

Thanks

the red exclamation point is really only a warning, it means that DW cant properly inspect the code. If the page works in the browser, you can ignore it. Only if the page doesn't work in the browser should the exclamation mark be looked into.

that being said, you should be able to get rid of the exclamation mark by adding some blank spaces to the RepeatSelectionCounter_1_Iterations line. look carefully at the code i posted:

php:
$RepeatSelectionCounter_1_Iterations = "".$imagesPerRow  ."";

notice the two blank spaces between the $imagesPerRow variable and the end of the line " "";", these 2 blank spaces are important to helping DW inspect the code properly.

in the code you posted:

php:
$RepeatSelectionCounter_1_Iterations = "".$imagesPerRow."";

those blank spaces are missing (yes, something that small can make that big of a difference)

The two spaces did not correct the DW error. I did paste and try your code with the two spaces prior to removing them. I re-tried after your last response to double-check, but it did not change the results.

Unless you have another possible solution, I will ignore the error since the page seems to function properly.

Thanks for your help,

yes, the error can be safely ignored if that does not clear it up, it is really just Dreamweaver's way of saying that it cannot inspect the code block, so there may or may not be a problem

since it runs properly in the browser, it is not really an issue.

well, here's my solution...

I left the line:
$RepeatSelectionCounter_1_Iterations = "5";

and then added the variable line below it:
$RepeatSelectionCounter_1_Iterations = $imagesPerRow;

works fine... DW warning gone...

Thanks again for all your help!
