Multiple shipping options
I cannot figure out how to include multiple shipping options. Can this system really have been designed to support only one shipping option?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can do it however you want to do it. Usually it involves setting a session variable with the shipper choice and using that in the shipping rule to make sure the corresponding rate is used.
That means nothing to me. If I knew php. I certainly would not have put my money into Web Assist extensions. I wander around here lost. I read the documentation and I'm still lost. I come to the forum to aks questions and you are basically telling me to learn php. I try to use trouble tickets and I come away lost after waiting 2 days for an answer that again means nothing to me.
Can you tell me where to look to find out how to set a session variable with the shipper choice? And then tell me, how would I use that in the shipping rule to make sure the corresponding rate is used? Where would I find the corresponding rate in the first place?
Hey, did you know that FedEx has about 10 different services? For some reason WA only lets you choose one service. Why would that be? Have you ever seen a shopping cart that only has one option for shipping?
Thanks in advance.
Use the "set session value" server behavior to set a session variable with your shipper choice.
If you edit the fedex server behavior you should be able to edit the services or you can add a list from the snippits panel if you wan't to allow the customer to choose.
Greg, to be absolutely fair, I don't think you will find any cart with the flexibility you desire which won't require at least a small amount of programming. You can always do easy straight forward implementations without coding but adding flexibility adds complexity.
My personal feeling is that for some reason too many people come to the forum with the expectation that "no programming is required."
I know it's very frustrating and it will take longer but learning a little programming will help you to accomplish spectacular results. One book I would recommend is: "PHP Solutions" by David Powers.
You won't "find" a session variable you will have to code it. They look like
$_SESSION[something here] The code for the different rates can all be generated by WA. It may not be as straight forward and walking through a wizard, but the "heavy lifting" can be automated.
Again, I would highly recommend you get the book. In a couple of hours time you will know a LOT more and probably progress your project faster than the approach you've been using.
I feel your pain, I think we've all been there before. Hang in there.
ps. I like Ray's session variable approach even better. I tend to do too many things by hand.
