Framework Builder DWT Conversions

Framework Builder DWT Conversions

Trying to get my head around the Framework Builder Extension and how it's used in relationship to templates.

I have several php based sites using various WA extensions, each using their own Dreamweaver template. Each template has numerous "includes" within the template and many have optional template elements.

Using Framework Builder, can I:

1. Use Framework Builder to create a new design / layout?

2. Does it automatically update all of the pages for a site from the old template to a Framework Builder layout without having to edit each individual page.

3. Can Framework Builder automatically handle conversion to the new theme, the optional template elements (on or off)?

Are there any conflicts with Framework Builder and any other WA extensions?

Thanks,
David

1) framework builder isn't used to create new designs it is used to transform dreamweaver templates to Framework Themes, which eliminates some of the drawbacks inherent in standard DW templates and adds new capabilities.

2-3) There is an option to transform all of your templated pages to the new theme when you create the theme from a dw template

there could be some conflicts with extensions that have redirects when using plugins, not themes

those conflics can be easily accounted for and are fixed in recently updated products

Solution Receipts

Maybe it would be a great benefit if you could make some additional tutorials or solution receipts for this extension.

The main feature tour is nice but learning a bit more advanced features that are possible (template conversion, theming, dynamic themes etc.) would be really welcome.

This might save a lot of time finding out what can be done and how to do with this great extension.
