Can you still search a database and show results.

Can you still search a database and show results.

I was wondering if there is a way to still search a database and then send to another page and review the results. I cannot seem to find this option anywhere. I like to do it that way because then I know what results to at least expect. I am not very familiar and fond of the search boss and Bing search. They never show results even though my site is indexed and I have a app id. Please let me know if this is still an option. Thanks,
