ssl

Hi!

I have not added the social media toolkit yet. I am wondering if it will have any problems passing ssl? IE and Safari specifically.

My entire site has ssl. I would like to place this icons on the template so all pages will have these social media icons on them.

Is this possible?

Thank you !

Hey Johna,

Social Media Toolkit should be unrelated to your SSL certification. If SSL exists on the site currently, adding share buttons will not cause any issues.

Have a good evening

Matthew,

Hi! Thanks for the input; however, when I inserted and uploaded the files, my https would not accept them. Is there a special code for ssl I need? Social Media is so important these days - I need to have these pass ssl. Any other suggestions?

Thank you again!

Jason,

Good morning!

Specifically...

If you open the page with the social media buttons added it will not pass ssl, so for example, in Chrome at the beginning of the address instead of https, the https is in red with a line crossing through it. In internet explorer the display secure content pop up pops up.

Thank you :)

Jason,

I had to reinsert and upload. Here's the link:

home.php

I also noticed here on your website that if I am logged in, Chrome, IE, etc. shows the issues. So this is normal?

Thank you

Hi again,

I removed the social media buttons around 11:00 CST or so. If you would just let me know the best thing to do - that would be great...

:)

Thank you,
Johna

Solution to SSL issue

Thank you Jason for time and patience!

For all of you with similar FB icon issues:

Replace:

<script src="http://static.ak.fbcdn.net/connect.php/js/FB.Share" type="text/javascript"></script>

With:

<script src="https://ssl.connect.facebook.com/connect.php/js/FB.Share" type="text/javascript"></script>

ssl again

Hi,

This code is not working as it should. I looked for the ssl code on FB, but could not find it. When I apply the
<script src="https://ssl.connect.facebook.com/connect.php/js/FB.Share" type="text/javascript"></script>

the facebook button no longer appears.

Did FB change the code required or do you have an update on the ssl code?

I had to remove the button because the pages would not load.

Thank you!
