Icons in Menus?

Is there a way to add icons to the menus I create with CSS Menu Writer? Any examples of how to do this?

Thanks!

Yes, but you would need to manually edit the menu.php file to insert the icons.

If you then used the GUI to edit the menu structure you would lose the icons.

Could you explain more detail on how to do this or better would be if you could add this feature to this extension in the Design Extender.
I'm really looking for this to do, so it would be a great addition to this extension.

you would need to manually add an inline style to the menu item for the icon, for example:

<li><a href="index.php" style="background-image:url(icons/home.png);">Home</a></li>

Hi Jason,

Thanks for your example, i will give it try.

Though i still think it would be a nice feature to add to CSS Menu Writer if you can do this from within the extension, maybe you can add it to the wishlist :-)

Keep up the good work as i really like your extensions!

I tried but have some alignment issues, Icon vs Label text.
It would really be nice if this could be added inside Menu Writer in a future update.

you may need to add margins or padding to get the images alignment correct.

if you post a link and a description of ho the alignment is off, i can probably give you a css fix.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the suggestion, i think i will be able to find it but i guess this will not become a feature for MenuWriter?

I use another menu extension which has this feature and it looks and works really nice, i really think MenuWriter can benefit from such feature inside.

Thanks anyway.
