submenu disappears under IE7

my clients site is working fine with all 'modern' browsers, but with IE7 I have 2 issues...

1. on the vertical menu, the submenu disappears about a second after mouseover. (if i use the keyboard to navigate it seems okay) ?

try selecting a submenu item of disc from the menu

2. on the horizontal menu, the submenu items are offset and some have spaces

One thing I have just noticed. if i keep the mouse close to the left hand side of the submenu, it seems more stable, its as though the content beneath is having an effect ??

grateful for any help/advice

in both menus the height and/or width is set to auto for each menu level.

IE7 does not work correctly when left to it's own devices to set the height or width.

you need to specify both a height and width using pixels for IE7 to function properly.

excellent.

That's made my day

Thanks Jason

I stopped the disappearing great.

I still have a slight issue with the submenu being offset to the right on the horizontal navigation.
Grateful if you could advise on that.

try adding the following conditional css just before the </head> tag:

<!--[if lte IE 7]>
<style type="text/css">
ul#cssmw ul.level-1 {
left: -40px;
}
</style>
<![endif]-->
