Before & after submit form data in email

Hi,

With the user update page created by the SA Wizard, is it possible to include the current form data along with the updated form data in the UA email sent when the form is submitted.

For each of the Text fields on the page that are used to edit the form data, create a hidden field. The updateable text boxes use a column from the recordset as the initial value, do the same for the hidden fields.

This way the hidden fields will post the original data, the visible text fields will post the changes.

you can use Universal Email to send the email message, select the option to create a file for the email, and select one of the templates, and the form data will automatically be used in the email massage body.

Thanks Jason,

I don't have the knowledge to be able to do what you suggest without asking for additional help. I don't know what part of the existing code is used to echo the initial value and what part updates the database.

Here is the code for one of my updatable Text fields (State)

php:
<input type="text" class="WAATKTextField" name="State" id="State" value="<?php echo(str_replace('"''"'$row_WAATKmemberaccounts['State'])); ?>" size="32" />

would you please give me the code you would suggest for the hidden field?

Also, we chose to NOT allow members to change their first & last name, but I would like to include the names in the UE email. I do display it on the form using (for the first name)

php:
<?php echo($row_WAATKmemberaccounts['First_Name']); ?>

can you please help me to add it in the UE email.

Thanks,
Dennis

the database gets updated by what is entered into the form fields.

the WAATKmemberaccounts recordset contains bindings for the original data

piece of the original data you want to include in the email, create a hidden form element, and bind the inital value to the corresponding column from the WAATKmemberaccounts recordset in the bindings panel.

when adding the universal email behavior, select the option to create a file for the email, this will automatically add code to the email to loop through all of the form fields and add them to the email,

this will show the data from the visible text boxes where changes can be made, and the data from the hidden form elements as well, which will contain the original values from the database.
