Question about Paypal Sandbox

Thread begun 11/04/2011 2:27 pm by lr_leal239405 | Last modified 1/03/2012 9:36 am by Jason Byrnes | 1872 views | 4 replies |

Question about Paypal Sandbox

Hi. When I run the Checkout Wizard, it has a Checkbox that's already checked to opt to use the Paypal Sandbox for testing. I do want to use it and I do have a Paypal Sandbox, but my questions are:

1) Do I put the Sandbox API Credentials or the real credentials in?

2) When I'm ready to go live, do I just change the credentials in the PHP page to the real ones? Or what do I have to do when I'm ready to go live to change to the real credentials?

Thank you.

using sandbox in paypal

I am just working on that issue. For pp sandbox you must use the sandbox credentials. This means that you mus create an account for a buyer and/or an account for a merchant or website payments pro.
The buyer uses an email (test user account) a pw and a card nr. The merchant and the website payments pro needs email (test account) , pw, api username, api pw, signature, cars nr and bank account.
When you go live you can also use the sandbox for testing. In real mode you must change them to the real accounts.
I hope I was helpful

1) To test using the sandbox you need to enter the Sandbox API Credentials.

2) When you are ready to go live, there are 4 server behaviors over 3 pages to edit.:
- checkout.php:
Authentication For PayPal Express Checkout
- confirm.php:
eCart Local Checkout
- pp_confirm.php:
Get Payer Profile From PayPal Express Checkout
Process Transaction with PayPal Express Checkout

In those 4 server behaviors, you will need to turn of the sandbox and replace the sandbox api credentials with the live API credentials.

Thanks. I had lost this thread a long time. I did manage to use the Sandbox for a while ane it worked great. But now that I've actually made the site live, I found this thread again... I did what you said here and triple checked all the files, and I can't find spaces, or wrong credentials, however I still can't get through error: 10002ErrorSecurity header is not valid2c122d2ebb3562012.

I opened another thread so this one is not necessary.

Thanks.
