Recordset Value is not displaying

I Created security pages.. n den i created a home page whr only logged in user can see.. so i wanna know following things-

I just created a recordset i have added this -- > <?php echo $row_Recordset1['UserFirstName']; ?> So dat it displays user's first name... but nthn is getting displayed....

One more thing is if i add a new field in database whr i want user to fill in up on dat, so if user have already answered den it get saved in database ex: address or smthng.. & so if a user's address field is empty den i want that to be displayed like it must say please enter ur address to save ur info... It must be asked after user logged in & if dat particular database field entry is empty..

Please reply me ASAP..
