Getting Started with SecurityAssist - Wizard

I can't get to step 1.

The Getting Started with SecurityAssist guide states in substep 1 within Step 1 of 6 "From the Insert menu, choose WebAssist>SecurityAssist>Wizard."

WebAssist is not listed under the Insert menu in Dreamweaver.

There is a new WebAssist menu on the menu bar along the very top of Dreamweaver.
- Under the WebAssist menu, WebAssist>SecurityAssist there is not an option to choose a wizard. The options under WebAssist>SecurityAssist are Create Security Pages, Manage Site Access, Authenticate User, Secure Page, Show Region, Email Password.

I selected the 1st option, WebAssist>SecurityAssist>Create Security Pages and the "SecurityAssist: Create Pages" window appeared.
I left the default of "PowerCMS V2 Users" under "Select Preset" and then under "Database Settings" I clicked the "Define" button.
The "Connections for Site 'Security Test Site' " dialog box appeared, I clicked the "New" button.
The "MySQL Connection" dialog box appeared. I had no idea what to enter in any of those fields so I clicked the "Select" button next to the "Database" field and got a message that stated "In order to select a database table, you must specify a username and password." I clicked "OK"
Now back on the "MySQL Connection" dialog box I clicked "Cancel."
Now back on the "Connections for Site 'Security Test Site' " dialog box, I clicked "Done."
Now back on the "SecurityAssist: Create Pages" window I clicked "Cancel."

I then tried to go into "phpMyAdmin" from the "WAMP" icon in the system tray of the taskbar at the bottom of the screen.

Although I had gone into "phpMyAdmin" to create a new database to be used for WebAssist immediately before trying to start the WebAssist "Wizard" described above, I now get an error message when trying to open "phpMyAdmin."

The error message states "Cannot start session without errors, please check errors given in your PHP and/or webserver log file and configure your PHP installation properly."

I can't even get to substep 1 (accessing the Wizard) of Step 1 of 6 of the "Getting Started with SecurityAsssit" guide and in trying I trashed "phpMyAdmin."

Where do I find the Wizard?
How do I fix "phpMyAdmin" that has worked flawlessly for the past year?

Thanks,
Robert

phpMyAdmin Working Now

I have no idea what I've done in the past couple of hours to correct the problem but after getting more than a dozen error messages "phpMyAdmin" is now working.

Back to the Wizard. Is the window for the SecurityAssist Wizard actually titled "Wizard?" If not would you please tell me the title so I'll know if I'm beginning on the correct screen.

What do I need to select from the menu to access the "Wizard?"

Thanks,
Robert

Wrong Documentation

After reviewing your "Common Installation Issues" document I deleted the WinFileCache.dat file a couple of times along with uninstalling and reinstalling SecurityAssist several times.

What I kept seeing in Dreamweaver each time I reinstalled the extension looked nothing like the descriptions in the "Getting Started Guide."

I finally discovered that the documentation "Getting Started with SecurityAssist" I downloaded when I purchased SecurityAssist as part of the Dynamic Suite is for a different version of SecurityAssist. The Getting Stated Guide is for SecurityAssist 1.1.6 and the version I just purchased is 2.03

On the SecurityAssist webpage securityassist/
under the heading "How Tos" there is a link titled "How to apply Register/Login functionality to your checkout page.

Clicking on that link takes you to this page registration_on_checkout.php
that describes how to apply the register/login to the checkout process.

At the top of the instructions is a note about eCart and SecurityAssist along with links to "Getting Started Guides" for each application. The link for "SecurityAssist Getting Started Guide" takes you to this page
securityassist_gsg.pdf
which is the documentation for the old application (v1.1.6 or higher) which unfortunately is what I downloaded thinking I was getting the instructions I needed.

You could eliminate a lot of users' headaches (literally) if you'd place the new documentation in that final link.

Thanks,
Robert

On the security assist support page, there is a link for the current getting started guide:
securityassist/

the "How to apply Register/Login functionality to your checkout page" was written for Security Assist 1.x, though the concept is the same in Security Assist 2.

use the link on the support landing page for the security assist getting started guide instead of the link in the how to documentation.

I will forward your comments to the documentation team as well.
