Yahoo Mail setup

Hey all, Just getting started with webassist extensions and trying to setup the simple contact form with CSS Form Builder. My emails are being rejected with the following errors is my log files.

"the from: address is not in your domain" and " access was denied"

I am assuming I need to authenticate the email with my login and pw. The problem I see is that Univ Email only has authentication under the Pear selection. Yahoos settings are SMTP.bizmail.yahoo.com port 465 or port 587.

I found another thread addressing this issue. The problem was resolved after opening a ticket but not posted on the following thread. showthread.php?t=12176&highlight=yahoo+mail

Where can I find the solutions?

Thanks

D

progress

With a little more research and a little talking to myself, I found that if I put my own address in the From: address in the Universal Email setup, it works.

What I ended up with.
To:me@mydomain.com
From:me@mydomain.com
Smtp:smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com
Port:465
blank
blank

This solved part of the problem. Email sends without the error "From:address is not from this domain".

I still get a error in my tmp folder stating "Sorry! You do not have permission to access this location".

This still leads me to believe that i need to use some type of authentication. Where would I insert this? Thoughts?

Thanks

D

if the email is sending, you do not need authentication.

you say:

I still get a error in my tmp folder stating "Sorry! You do not have permission to access this location".

where do you see this error? in the browser? is that the exact text of the error message, or are you paraphrasing? that does not sound like a familiar error to me.

can you send a screen shot showing the error.

do not have permission

Thanks for the quick response Jason.

Yes the error is exactly as stated. That error is generated by Yahoo I think. I have a tmp folder on the root of my site that error logs are stored in. That is where I see the errors. The permission, or lack of error, made me think I could clear this up if I could pass some authentication along with the email.

Strange that I see this error and it still passes the email. I have no problem sending the emails as I stated earlier. The errors are just messing up my logs. Have an email in to Yahoo as well. Hope I can get this cleaned up.

I'll take any other thoughts you may have.

The error is too vague for me to be able to troubleshoot, maybe set the permissions for the folder in the error to 755.

Closing

Thanks for the help Jason,

Yahoo guys don't have much to say about it. Think it may be a nuisance error coming from thier end, but not to interested in pursuing it as long as it is working.

I'm movin' on myself.

Thanks Again

Darren
