Image navigation

I tried to submit a new thread earlier, but I cannot find it on the forum now. Sorry if this is something of a repeat.

A customer wants changes to his existing PS3 and PG site.

He wants the top navigation bar "Products" item to point to separate pages containing images of each sub-category for each of his category pages, eg:

Product categories
Africa - grid of up to 18 images, each image pointing to the first item in the PG Gallery from that sub-category, shown as Gallery page
Americas ditto, Artics ditto, Asia ditto, etc etc

This is instead of going to the normal Product Results page.

From the Gallery, my customer wants the Product Detail page shown from whichever item the visitor was viewing when the gallery is closed.

Obviously, I recognise that this is not the user route that was envisaged when PS and PG were designed (note the great British understatement here!).

(A) do you know if anyone has done this already?
(B) could you advise how to do this (maybe under a support ticket - advanced help)?
(C) can PS 4.5 do this?
(D) can PS 4.5 do some of this?

My original test site is at www.chengyancurrent.nickdfg-test.co.uk

Many thanks, Nicola

(A) No, I do not know of anyone who has done similar modifications to power store

(B) The amount of modification to power store needed for this sounds like a pretty big project, this is beyond what we can offer support for.

we may be able to get you started on this in a one on one premium ticket.

(C- D) No, Power Store 4.5 cannot do this.
