ftp included

just bought version 2, is there a ftp program built into this or is that something we need to add on our own?
ftp for uploading directly to server that is....not using the admin area

to ftp files directly to the server, you need to use your own ftp program like Filezilla or WS FTP.

hmmm, any recomendations on a good script based ftp utility? I just assumed there was one included, I doubt if clients would want to install anything.

The admin section allows for image files to be uploaded to the server.

If they wish to upload the files using FTP instead, they will need to install an FTP Application.

I have to confess, when reading the upgrade description (as a long time v1 user) I had assumed the client could do the ftp. I did buy the 2 version, and was surprised to learn, the client couldn't ftp. Frankly, other than seeing the included fixes for the IE9 junk, the new version isn't much different than 1 except I don't have to keep adding the fixes. One extra gallery design, but not a user friendly one.

I have never posted a negative here about any WA products. I am thrilled with the level of support, but frankly, this product disappoints. I had to get assistance (thank you) to make it work.

Sorry WA; it's just not up to your standards. I know you guys can do better.

Yeah the ftp inticed me also, I guess I didn't read the fine print closely enough.
The way I fixed this was just to use uploadify (free) to allow for multiple uploads.
It's not exactly what I wanted, but it will do for now until I get a chance to write my own php ftp client.
heres a link to that uploadify if you need it. I just have it set to upload to the images folder for pg2

Thx.. I'll take a look. I do use WA digital upload and like that but again, as far as I know how to use it, one image at a time.

Just to confirm: I had a lot of issues with the new gallery but I received help and fixes immediately. I am not complaining about support.

But, this one is not yet ready for prime time. I shouldn't have had to ask for help.

WA: you do great stuff. This one wasn't ready.

I didn't do an upgrade on an older version of the gallery. It was a new install on an new domain.

So, just feedback.

This one is not ready yet.
