Paypal Checkout Problem

I'm trying to checkout using Paypal Express. I'm asked to login to Paypal and then confirm my order. When I confirm it. I get this error.

Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address.

Also when I try to go back to the website using the Paypal "Back to Merchant", I get a blank page.

Also, my client is not receiving an email when the credit card order is placed (this works), Paypal Express does not.

see the "Debugging eCart transaction failed issues" tutorial on the eCart support page:

ecart/

When adding the local checkout response binding group, make sure to select "Authorize Express Checkout" as the gateway. You should also add a second one for "Process Express Checkout"

add the Long error message binding from both of those binding groups to the failure page to get info on why the transaction is failing.

If the email is not sending, you should double checkout the smtp server address and the From address being used in the Universal Email server behavior.

double check with your host if you are not sure what to use.

If you are convinced these are set correctly, ask you host to look into the smtp server error logs to see why the smtp server is not relaying the email message.

I have no clue what this means. Is it possible to correct the problem if I give you FTP access? You could open a ticket.

I would really appreciate that.

I don't see either of these Gateways:

"Authorize Express Checkout" or "Process Express Checkout"

Found these 2 options. Still doesn't work. Now when I try to clear the cart, I am brought to my Paypal Checkout - Transaction Failure page.

I removed these 2 options and need to start over "Authorize Express Checkout" or "Process Express Checkout".

Can you help setting this up? Paypal Express still does not work.

Where do I modify the email message that Universal Email sends out? I went to the conform.php page and did not see the Universl Email server behavior. What file is it?

what do you mean by this? Did you delete the "Authorize Express Checkout" and "Process Express Checkout" Binding groups from the bindings panel on the checkout failure page?

or did you delete the "Authorize Express Checkout" and "Process Express Checkout server behaviors from the server behaviors panel on the pp_confirm.php page?

from your wording, it sounds like you deleted the server behaviors.

did you read the "Debugging eCart transaction failed issues" tutorial on the eCart support page?
ecart/

the general gist of the tutorial is to open the pp_checkout_failure.php page. Go to the bindings panel, click the plus button and select eCart -> Checkout -> Local Checkout Checkout response.
then from the list of gateways, select the appropriate one, in your case
"Authorize Express Checkout" and "Process Express Checkout"

this will add binding groups to the pp_checkout_failure.php page to get information back from the gateway on why the transaction is failing.

from the bindings that are added to the bindings panel, you select the Long Error Message binding and add that to the pp_checkout_failure.php page.

the Universal Email behavior is added to the confirm.php and pp_confirm.php pages

I got a lot futher now.

On my final checkout from Paypal, I am getting this message:

Unable to process payment. Please contact the merchant as the shipping address provided by the merchant is invalid, and the merchant has requested that your order must be shipped to that address.

What does that mean?

Also, I do not see the Univeral Email server behavior on the confirm.php and pp_confirm.php pages. I don't even know how the email is getting sent.

on the confirm page, look for the following form element:
<input type="hidden" name="address_override" id="address_override" value="1" />

and change it's value to 0:
<input type="hidden" name="address_override" id="address_override" value="0" />

the error indicates that you are using PayPal Payments standard.

Universal Email will not be applied to checkout pages using Universal Email.

the Paypal system will handle sending the receipt email, you will need to configure the paypal account to send the receipt email to the store owner as well as the customer, for assistance with that, you should contact paypals support.
