Errors with sa!!

Hi, I'm having several errors with SA, actually since installation I started to have problems, I had to back up the configurations folder, remove and then install all the extensions, which is time consuming and counter productive.

Now, once I did all that, I started to create a few pages just to check the extension, I'm starting a new project on Monday and I want to have everything under control, first problem, when I was creating the different pages - I just went with 3, login, logout and registration - and hit ok, I receive the following prompt:

"Error in Site Tools Progres Panel InitializeUI: TypeError: wa.user_interface has no properties"

because I don't know what that means, I just clicked OK, the system continued creating the pages, once finished, the Validation Rules screen appeared, I just ignore it and then, the same message appeared - Image attached -

When I was creating the pages, I checked the Configure Field Settings option, because I'm just testing and found all those settings kinda' scary, I just checked on password and configures the min and max characters, in min I placed 4 and max 10, min/max alpha, min/max numbers and min/max special all of them with 0 as values, well, when i'm testing the forms trying to access the site using the newly login form and using a registered password of 6 characters I got this:

"Minimum number of characters not met" on user field and "The password doesn't meet the specified strength. Your field must contain a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 characters." on password field, why is this happening if I clearly placed 4 and 10 as limits???

Same thing happens with the registration form, I entered a password of 6 characters and then I received the following "The password doesn't meet the specified strength. Your field must contain a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 characters."

So my question is, is really worthy this extension? I'm reading a lot of users having problems with that and now I'm one of them, so, please any staff member can reply? Jason? we always worked together all my past issues with my extensions so, please any hand?

Also, the tutorials, wow, not good enough, "do this, do that", but I think a little bit of more explanation would be really appreciated, examples per specific options available on all the extensions by custom examples.

Thanks a lot!!

Arturo

Arturo,

Please be aware of our business hours, I am online offering support from 9AM to 5pm Eastern Daylight Time. Your question was initially posted outside of those hours.

for the error you are getting:
Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:
common_installation_issues.pdf

for the other issues, can you please provide some more details on your set up:

What is your OS?
What Version of Dreamweaver?
What other extensions (including version numbers) do you have installed?

Hi Jason,

1.- What is your OS?
MAC OS 10.6.8

2.- What Version of Dreamweaver?
CS5

3.- What other extensions (including version numbers) do you have installed?
Please see attached file

About this: "...Delete the Dreamweaver Cache file from the users configuration folder:..." there it says only for CS4 so not sure if its going to work with CS5.

Thanks

Arturo

you have some extensions installed that where never updated to be compatible with Dreamweaver CS5:

Universal Email 3
Digital File Pro 2
eCart 4

min/max alpha, min/max numbers and min/max special all of them with 0 as values, well

instead of setting those to 0 leave them empty if you do not want to force a minimum or maximum for the number of letters, numbers or specials.

by entering 0, you are say limit to a minimum of 0 and maximum of 0.

Ok, I understand about eCart 4 and Universal Email because I don't have them updated yet, but Digital File Pro?? I just bought that a few days ago!! what's the supposed version of dreamweaver that is needed to work??

Ok I understand that, however, that doesn't solve this:

"Minimum number of characters not met" on user field and "The password doesn't meet the specified strength. Your field must contain a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 characters." on password field, why is this happening if I clearly placed 4 and 10 as limits???

Thanks Jason

my Apologies, I misspoke, Digital File Pro 2 is compatible with CS5, I did not realize it had been updated to support CS5.

Did you recreate the registration page from scratch leaving the min / max alpha, numbers and specials options empty?

if the security assist pages being created by the wizard already exist, it will only add the new code, not modify the old code.

each time you run the wizard, you will either need to delete the security assist pages or use unique names.
