forgotpassword - email not found

Thread began 8/21/2011 4:22 am by rob.parkin390637 | Last modified 9/10/2013 9:03 pm by superpac250441 | 6040 views | 25 replies |

forgotpassword - email not found

I've got user registration / login working ok but I'm having trouble with the forgot password routine that was created using SecurityAssist2 getting started guide. When I test the forgotpassword.php page with an email I know is in the database I get the message:

"Your email address could not be found in our records. Please try again."

I'm using CS3 and SecurityAssist2.

I am having the same problem today.

Your email address could not be found in our records. Please try again.

I've redone sets of pages a few times but not seeing anything that looks out of whack.

Everything else is fine. Which page should we look on to find something amiss?

Thanks much.

I did the sessions test

sessionTest.php

First url

sessionTest.php?test=test

Second

sessionTest.php

So does this mean, this server (not my own, but a windows) can't manage the forgot password page?

thanks

More information.

On the forgotpassword page, I found a reference to an domain that I worked with a few days ago.

$WA_MailObject = WA_SecurityAssist_Definition("mail.(otherdomain).com","25","","","","");

I don't know why it would have pulled that other domain up. Changing and testing.

That didn't solve it.

rob.parkin390637 and biz295654, most likely the Email Password server behavior is set to use the wrong database column as the Look up column on the database tab.

go to the server behaviors panel, double click the Email Password server behavior, then go to the database tab and make sure the Lookup column is set to use the Email address column.

if you continue to have problems, send a copy of the forgot password page so I can look at the code.

Thank you! That took care of it. Also while in that area, I saw a domain name that was a cached domain from another project. So I changed that also. The interface did show that I had email and password columns set ok. But at any rate, all good. Thank you so much.

Hi Jason

Checked the lookup column and this is set to use the user email in the database - so I've attached forgotpassword.php (as a .txt file so I could upload it) for you to look at

Thanks!

I swear this was working earlier. But I failed to check it if I put in the wrong password. :-(

I checked the mail/user and pass columns and it seems to be the correct setting.

Attaching the forgotpassword.php file.

Thanks for any assistance.

Hi Jason

Just checking if there has been any progress on this issue? Your last post said you'd created a support ticket but I've heard nothing and cannot find a support ticket on this subject in my support history.
