eCart Inventory

Hi,
I am now creating catalog pages and shopping cart using the eCart.
Products we are selling is usually only one item, so we only have 1 inventory for each items.
So if the item is sold, we like to make the add to cart button unavailable and put sold out message instead.
Does eCart have this function?
We also have data assist, security assist, and and free ecommerce database installed, the webassist provids.
We just want to make it simple, as when the item is sold just make it unavailable to purchase.
Thanks,

No, eCart does not have a function for managing inventory, you would need to hand code this.

Managing inventory is tricky, especially in a situation where you only have one of the item, you would need to add a check just before the code that processes the transaction to make sure the item has not been purchased by another user between the time they added the item to the cart and got to the checkout page, and add another block of code to remove the item from the inventory after the transaction has taken place.

this is not code that we can offer support for though, if you would like help creating this functionality, I would recommend signing up for a premiere ticket where we could work with you in a one on one session to create this.

Premier Support

That's is great news to here,
so if we purchase the Premier Support, can you create that function?
We are still creating he catalog, so once it is don, can we issue the premier ticket and you guys can help with that function?
Just quick question, to do get the help should we prepare database with data assist or can we just do it within the ecart function?
Thanks

yes, this can be done in a premiere ticket.

you would just need to have your product database created before hand.
